For reference because lord knows eventually I'll forget what he's given out and to whom. General notes
Unless stated otherwise, come in the form of woven and knotted cord bracelets.
Like his blessings, (loosely) based on Creation's constellations. He prefers using ones from the House of Serenity or Endings, but prioritizes tailoring them to the recipient and purpose. In theory, any of them are potentially applicable.
Good for one activation only at his current proficiency (Week 5-6) and will need to be re-enchanted to be used again.
All have activation conditions, usually involving facing some dangerous situation or being in peril.
The little feelings flavour text is mostly just for a bit of fun roleplay; they're easily ignorable unless a character chooses to focus on them.
Please don't mind the names that's just me being extra the way canon would want me to be.
For Mika ("Moving the Hand of Fate")
A woven bracelet made out of blue and yellow cord, tied off with matching beads for adjustment. Both Ginger and Day’s magic can be felt from it, tempered into something that can move the hand of fate, if only once.
The charm prevents a single fatal or lethal attack that would have otherwise landed from touching the wearer. By some quirk of fate or another, it will simply miss, and the bracelet will break afterwards.
Wearing the bracelet gives a faint sense of warmth and steady calm that is easily ignorable. If one focuses on the feeling, they can sense its full shape— a memory of warmth and company that reminds them that they are not alone, and that no matter what comes their way, they can face it. It’s a sentiment that is neither arrogant nor humble, rather a gentle but firm affirmation.
Based on the Ship's Wheel and the Ewer.
For Kurapika ("Prior Warning")
A woven bracelet made out of purple cord, tied off with matching beads for adjustment. It has a rather plain, understated design, apparently an acknowledgement of Kurapika’s tastes.
The charm warns its wearer of an immediate threat to their well-being. It does not reveal the specific threat but gives a strong feeling of unease that lets them know there is some form of impending danger. This foreboding can help them detect the actual threat, if applicable. The warning occurs a few minutes in advance, or at least in time to be potentially useful to the wearer. After it is activated once, Day’s magic will fade from the bracelet.
Wearing the bracelet gives a faint sense of resignation, easily ignorable. If one focuses on the feeling, one can sense its full shape—the resignation is an acceptance that whatever may come will come, and with that, the resolve to face it.
Based on the Crow.
For Ginger ("Elusive Object of Desire")
A woven bracelet made out of blue cord, tied off with matching beads for adjustment. At the ends, there are knots in the shape of either flowers or clover leaves, depending on your perspective. The ambiguity may have been intentional.
The charm bolsters dodging an enemy’s attacks, giving a sense of being more fleet-footed than usual. After successfully dodging an attack, the wearer may optionally use their magic to activate the second part of the spell, which captivates the attacker’s attention and forces them to focus on the wearer to the exclusion of other viable targets. In return, the wearer will have empowered dodges and attacks against the selected opponent until the fight ends. Only one opponent can be affected at a time. Both effects of this charm last for the rest of the battle after it is activated. After it is activated once, Day’s magic will fade from the bracelet.
Wearing the bracelet gives a faint sense of affection, easily ignorable. If one focuses on the feeling, one can sense its full shape—a gentle but knowing smile, either an invitation for a moment of closeness to those you love, or a challenge to those who would chase to claim you. Smile at your troubles, always. It’s not yet time to surrender to the torment of the hunt.
Based on the Ewer.
For Yamato ("Defense of Shining Joy")
A woven bracelet made out of blue cord, tied off with matching beads for adjustment. At the ends, there are knots tied in a squarecross, a sign of friendship.
The charm helps the wearer anticipate and dodge an enemy’s attacks, as if they were dancing together. After a successful dodge, the wearer may use the initiative/momentum from dodging to launch a more powerful counterattack against their opponent (“After all, you’re stealin’ their thunder.”). This effect lasts for the rest of the battle after it is activated by an enemy trying to attack them. After it is activated once, Day’s magic will fade from the bracelet.
Wearing the bracelet gives a faint sense of contentment, easily ignorable. If one focuses on the feeling, one can sense its full shape—a full feeling of joy, as though you’ve found perfection even in an imperfect life, if only for a moment.
Based on the Musician.
For Shinjiro ("One Way Forward")
A woven bracelet made out of yellow cord, tied off with matching beads for adjustment. It has a simple, no-nonsense design, meant to stay out of the way.
The charm strengthens the user against attempts to forcibly move or stop them from reaching their destination. The "destination" can be either a physical location or a task they must accomplish, whichever makes more sense and/or is Appropriately Dramatic. They can still fall from gravity or be knocked down, but they will be buffed when facing situations that would impede them from their destination, such as leaping across a pit, breaking down a door, escaping an enemy’s grapple, etc. The charm is activated when the wearer finds themself in peril that would otherwise stop them and lasts until they reach their "destination". After it is activated once, Day’s magic will fade from the bracelet.
Wearing the bracelet gives a faint sense of stoicism, easily ignorable. If one focuses on the feeling, one can sense its full shape—a simple, straightforward acknowledgement that if you want things to be done, you have to do them yourself. But perhaps this is just business as usual for Shinjiro.
Based on the Mast.
For Phil ("Refused Burden")
A woven bracelet made out of purple cord, tied off with matching beads for adjustment. It’s fairly simple, aside from one end tying off into a fairly complex knot, a symbol for good luck.
The charm lets them ignore injuries, mobility penalties and other self-conditions that would impede them from reaching their destination. The "destination" can be either a physical location or a task they must accomplish, whichever makes more sense and/or is Appropriately Dramatic. For Phil, he will find his clumsiness won’t strike at an inopportune moment, and he can push himself to his limits and beyond without immediately collapsing…though the same can’t be said after it’s all over. The charm is activated when the wearer finds themself in danger and lasts until they reach their "destination". After it is activated once, Day’s magic will fade from the bracelet.
Wearing the bracelet gives a faint sense of optimism, easily ignorable. If one focuses on the feeling, one can sense its full shape—a sense of looking forward to something, whether it’s the future or whatever else your heart wishes for, and a hunger that drives you forward to reach the end of that journey.
